Training Camp

Hey guys,

So, I have been in the beautiful hills of Georgia since Sunday, breathing heavily and deeply of the Spirit of God.  That sounds like a super-spiritual statement…because it is. Daddy has been tearing off my flesh, and blanketing me in His Spirit…Yes.

I am not the only one here. My amazing new family is here with me.  I have only known the members of my team for 4 days, but the Love of Ages is blowing through our community, making it seem like we’ve known each other our whole lives. We all keep saying, “How long have we been here?”

“Man, it’s only been __ hours.”

“That’s insane.”

That’s how the conversation usually goes.

In my life, I have never experienced a better version of Christian community.  A couple days ago, about 150 of us spent the whole evening beckoning Jesus to come and dwell with us…He did. It sounds like a cute, common occurrence.  It was no such thing. I could hardly speak or move for the time He exploded His glory on us. It was beautiful. Almost too beautiful.  It’s been 10 years since I have communed with Daddy like this. Too long.

I dare you to go outside and scream out the name of Jesus, seeking for even a short period of time. The God of the Universe will meet with you, because you will have beckoned Him from deep within.

So, I’ll be in the hills for a little bit longer, then to Dallas for goodbyes, then into the Earth for the Kingdom. Pray for me.

That’s all for now.

Much love,

Nathan

Hello family and friends,

Time is flying by! I leave for training in 11 days. What?! I am so, so excited. I am finishing up my last days at Compass Church and making final preparations for the trip. That means trips to REI are becoming more frequent and a series of goodbyes has begun.

Please do not forget about me while I am gone. Your earnest prayers are of utmost importance in pushing back the darkness in the world. I need you to push back the darkness with me.

Guess what. I now have 9100 of 14300 in my World Race account. Amazing. Thank YOU for giving. Thank you for listening to the Spirit Wind blowing through your heart. Of course that leaves me with 5200 left to raise. If you can help with that, please do! I hope to be fully funded by the time I launch in June. That leaves more time for True Religion and less time of me asking for money.

I was reading through Revelation this morning and it left two things on my heart: Our God is huge and glorious beyond our imaginations and we are mere microns in the grandness of His creation and story. This is evident! Who are we that He is mindful of us? Seriously. Read Revelation.

I can’t wait to start blogging about what I am doing while I am out! Ill talk to you guys soon.

Much love,

Nathan

Hello wonderful people,

This week has been peaceful but not necessarily ordinary. God has reminded me that He does as He pleases. I am a forgetful one, so once again, He has reminded me that He is the rightful owner of all the universe’s contents, even the very skin on my bones. My heart has become less tense towards support raising and more thankful that I have a Cosmic Daddy who provides for me. Yes, the worker works the field and the Father sends the rain, but working the field is becoming a joy rather than a burden in light of Cosmic Daddy’s provision.

Through the pricking of hearts, Cosmic Daddy has sent me about 2000 in two weeks. I now have 6400 of the 14300 needed to fund my efforts for a year. To those of you who have given, I am deeply thankful and your generosity has not gone unnoticed. I will not praise you too much, as to diminish your True reward. Haha. Kidding…kind of. If you have not given and are well able, I humbly ask that you would do so. Like I have said before, my agenda lies in the exaltation of Christ and His Kingdom, that is to love God and love others.

With that said, be reminded of the reality of Christ and His Kingdom. Do not treat your days flippantly as to be taken off guard by some kind of hardship or even death. We truly are vapors in the context of space and time. Let’s make the most of our fleeting days. The only way to do that is to live in harmony with what truly IS, Christ and His Kingdom. Be encouraged this afternoon.

Much love,

Nathan

To sell or to give?

The past few days I have been struggling with the thought of selling my car in order to fund my mission trip efforts. The idea of getting rid of the car is not the problem. Other than the generosity through which the car was given to me, it’s intrinsic value equals that of dust. My struggle is with my own faith. If it joys God to provide for my World Race efforts (and any other of my efforts for that matter), whether I sell my car or not would make no difference in the context of His actual provision. Provision does not equal “almost” provision or “just a little short of” provision. Provision = provision.

Those concerned with financial responsibility would possibly have a bone to pick with me. More than I have been called to make a seemingly “financially responsible” decision, I am called to be generous. If we were to take a deeper look into what is financially responsible, I think we would find it is more responsible to give, absurdly give. It’s not financially responsible in the sense that we would gain more wealth (the “health and wealth” gospel is a joke). It is responsible because the recipient of the gift would be better off. To give is a chance to say to our brothers and sisters, your well being is worth more than my desire to posses materials x, y or z.

I write this to encourage you all to GIVE out of your need. GIVE out your lack.  There is nothing but blessing to be had in this. To Jesus Christ be the glory for teaching His sheep this.

Distracted

Lukewarm people do not live by faith; their lives are structured so they never have to. They don’t have to trust God if something unexpected happens-they have their savings account. They don’t need God to help-they have their retirement plan in place. They don’t genuinely seek out what life God would have them live-they have life figured and mapped out. They don’t depend on God on a daily basis-their refrigerators are full and, for the most part, they are in good health. The truth is, their lives wouldn’t look much different if they suddenly stopped believing in God. -Crazy Love

World Race Newsletter

Dear amazing people,

The World Race training camp is right at a month away! Wow, I am excited! Daily, I am consumed with hopes and dreams of embarking on this mission trip. I regularly read blogs and watch videos of how God is showing up bright in the darkest places of our world. My previous blog post is a video of how World Race teams are making a HUGE difference in Swaziland, Africa. There are over 130,000 orphans in Swaziland, most of which are, or soon will be, HIV positive. If the trends continue, the country of Swaziland with be eradicated from our globe. Let’s not let that happen!

Considering monetary support, I am sitting right at $4000 out of $14,300 total needed. I literally have weeks left to raise the rest, and I am doing what I can. If you can help out in anyway, it would be a glorious thing! If you can’t help out monetarily, but you know someone who has ample resources, please speak to them on my behalf. I am speaking at Compass Christian Church in Westlake, TX at the Marriott Soloana this weekend in order to raise support and awareness. Please come if you can make it.

To those of you have already given on my behalf, THANK YOU!!! You have not gone unnoticed! You have directly imparted Christ’s love into my heart.

Lastly, this is about the Kingdom of God. This is about the Love of Christ. This is about the Light of the World. Please understand that I am simply a vessel that is willing to go and be Christ to those who need Him most.  Send me.

Much love,

Nathan

Light

On a daily basis my heart becomes more and more discontented with the darkness that imposes itself on our World, the same World our Father entrusted to us. Love wins, but the struggle is not easy. It’s my job to let the Light in and let it explode on anyone around me, let it fly out like divine shrapnel, piercing unsuspecting hearts. I want this to happen all day everyday. I want to constantly explode.

We don’t really get to see the face of darkness here in the suburbs, we see more the sly, quick hand of darkness. It wittingly stirs up dissent between families and impresses the desire for material wealth. The lucky ones become attuned to what is happening around age 50 and realize they’re empty. I don’t want to wait until I’m 50 to let the light in. I want it now.

Darkness rears its ugly head in the poorest places of our World, the same World our Father entrusted to us. It manhandles our brothers and sisters who do not know the Truth. It throws beautiful babies out on the street to die. It beats and rapes our sweet, sweet daughters. Over and over it murders our brothers. It turns our Fathers into cowards and our Mothers into bitter, unloving souls.

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

I want to stare the darkness in the face and ask the Father to explode His Light through me, deep into the heart of darkness.

“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

Father, please burst your Light through and within my brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, and still yet myself.

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”

This is why we go. Love wins.
